Symmetrical Payroll API allows 3rd party Financial services, Fintechs, Insurers, Benfits providers access to employee/contractor income information and verification in order to provide the employee/contractor with financial services they provide - insurance, benefits, credit and other through their platform.
"ext_services" section provides interface specification for App providers who offer services based on access to Payroll API. Accessible Payroll API products are specified in ScopeDetails object that the application is requesting access to during authorization step. Querying specific scope allows the App to query specific employee/contractor information.
With an authorization grant, the 3rd party provider can access the data (income, employment verification, etc.) or issue requests (debit/deduction, payment) for the employee/contractor.
